Dmitry Chudinov, president of the Progress Centre group, is a person of unmistakable diverse talents. His energy, expertise, and intuitionhave proved vital in various aspects of the company’s work .
In 1996, Chudinov came together with likeminded partners to create the Progress Scientific Technical Information Centre. The company quickly grew into a market leader in the field of professional seminars and advanced professional training.
In the late 1990s, Chudinov became the first Russian patron of Perspectivy, a St. Petersburg charity which helps severely disabled children and adults. A responsible and principled philanthropist, he truly understands the significance and purpose of this civic undertaking. Deep concern for the problems of people with multiple severe physical and mental disabilities, informal involvement in the lives of residents of orphan shelter no. 4 in Pavlovsk and psychoneurological boarding house no. 3 in Petrodvorets all help to understand people affected with these issues. “We cannot remain indifferent to the fate of these children”, says Dmitry Chudinov. “It is an area where we can apply our personal strength, energy, and time... I do this to give my life meaning, to give it a foundation, to give it substance. Otherwise it is nothing but an empty cliché.” He goes on to say, “At first, it was sad and a little difficult. But now i just feel slightly tired, because communicating with these people can be hard work. I leave feeling exhausted, but satisfied by what I have achieved. And that is truly what is important!”
As Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Perspektivy, Dmitry Chudinov works with a great number of people. Together, they inspire humanity and spirituality in our society. Dmitry Chudinov is a parishioner and active member of the parish council of the temple of Saint Mary Magdalene equal to apostles in Pavlovsk. Thanks to Dmitry Chudinov’s financial support and personal involvement, orphan shelter no. 4 in Pavlovsk and psychoneurological boarding house no. 3 in Petrodvorets were able to open Russian orthodox churches in their grounds. Chudinov highly values the logical connection between words and actions, inner drive, and specific practical steps aimed at affirming Christian values.
Music and the harmony of sound play an important part in Dmitry Chudinov’s life. As a student, he used to play in a rock band. Over the years, he has enjoyed all sorts of music – but the guitar remains an important element in his life. He writes songs and loves to perform them for his friends. In his travels, he collects new melodies, new photographs and experiences distilled into road stories.
Dmitry Chudinov writes songs and records music, takes part in video projects, and produces and stars in stage plays written by his friends.
Dmitry Chudinov’s portfolio includes coffee table books (The Music of My Soul, on Paper, 2002, The Miracle of Life, 2006), a collection of road stories called Memoirs, the CDs Mont Blanc and We Will!, and roles in six stage productions written by his friends for various occasions and venues.
